What it measures

Empathy in the VERINTIMO model is the intrinsic lens applied to the Outer World: your capacity to perceive other people as ends in themselves. It is measured not by how much you feel, but by how clearly you see — whether you register the particular human being in front of you, or a blurred average of people in general.

When it's clear

With clear Empathy, you read people accurately. You notice what a specific person needs before they say it, you can hold another person's perspective without losing yours, and relationships feel like exchange rather than performance. Others experience you as someone who actually sees them.

When it's blocked

A blocked Empathy score doesn't mean coldness — it usually means overload. People who grew up managing others' emotions often learned to blur people out as self-protection. The block shows up as misreading intentions, feeling drained by closeness, keeping everyone at the same safe distance, or treating every relationship through the same template.

How it shows up in daily life

At work: sensing a colleague is struggling before the deadline slips. In conflict: hearing the need under the complaint. In love: responding to the person in front of you rather than the role you assigned them. When blocked, the same situations produce misreadings, resentment, or a vague loneliness even when surrounded by people.

What unblocks it

Empathy clears through attention, not effort. Slowing down enough to register one actual person — their words, their pace, their silences — rebuilds the capacity. The assessment shows where your score sits; a Deep Dive session maps where the block started and what it protects.
